Peer Programming

Queen West site has had Peer Programming since 1999. Peer workers provide an important liaison between community members accessing our services and Harm Reduction project and program Coordinators. Peer workers support program and service delivery as well as provide direct peer support and information to clients. As either past or current users, peers contribute invaluable expertise, knowledge, and experiential knowledge to the Harm Reduction Team. Peer workers’ roles include mentorship, street/community outreach, workshop facilitation, and aid in harm reduction kit making.

Some of our current peer programing includes:

  • HIV Street Outreach
  • Satellite Harm Reduction
  • Empower! Youth HIV Education/Prevention
  • TRIP! Youth Harm Reduction
  • Four Winds Aboriginal Wellness
