2025 Holiday Message to PQW Staff, Volunteers and Partners
Holiday Message from Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre To all PQWCHC Staff, Volunteers and Partners As we mark the holidays season, we are thankful for the opportunity over the past year to enliven the Centre’s mission of by providing and leading equitable, accessible, comprehensive healthcare for people where, when, and how they need it. The year also holds grief and frustration as we faced the forced closure of our two Supervised Consumption Service sites, and the lives that will be forever harmed in the wake of this closure. We continue to see a growing hostility against harm reduction services, homeless shelters, and supportive housing, with agencies that provide these services taking the brunt of public opposition for this essential work. Sadly, the hostility we have witnessed reflects the turmoil present in our community and in the world, though it does not speak for the whole. Alongside it exists a current of compassion and solidarity that we must honour and strengthen. I implore you to hold firmly onto a hope expressed through action to create just and meaningful change and that we continue to work for and demand for others what we demand for ourselves. Over the holidays and the year to come, hold self, family, friends and community with care and love, and let’s continue to make justice and joy irresistible. Happy Solstice Happy Hanukkah Happy Kwanzaa Merry Christmas Angela Robertson, Executive Director
