Maureen Gans, our Senior Director of Client Services, presented to the House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights Studying Criminalization of Non-Disclosure of HIV Status at their meeting on April 30, 2019.

Maureen delivered a statement speaking to the differential impact of criminalization of non-disclosure on populations marginalized by race, nationality, gender and social location and questioned the efficacy of this approach in the face of research evidence and the continuing presence of stigma and discrimination against people who are HIV positive. PQWCHC is proud to be in solidarity with the many clients impacted by HIV/AIDS and remain committed to the fight against the discrimination many still face.
