Building Skills: Peer Learning & Empowerment Program – Women’s Series.

Building Skills is an eight-week program for women and all who identify as women to build on self-esteem and self-confidence in a supportive group environment. Training is designed to reinforce self –directed and experiential learning. The participative learning process promotes acquirement of transferable skills to real life situations and community issues.

Building Skills fosters communication and general life skills through workshops, facilitated discussions and group presentations. Modules include: Building on self-confidence; effective communication skills (e.g., healthy boundaries, assertive communication); stress management; teambuilding and presentation skills, etc. One of the deliverables of the project is that participants create and deliver a group presentation. Participants have the opportunity to practice presentation skills as part of a team.

Building Skills is a free program. It includes a Training Package and a Certificate of Completion. Snacks are served in each session.

End date (graduation): Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019
