We are excited to announce that we are a partner for the 9th Annual Humber Walk &
Ride4RealFood taking place on Sunday, June 16, 2019!
This is our 2nd year as a partner to this event and we would love it if you could support our team
or participate to make a positive impact on food security in Parkdale.
In its first year there were 3 agencies hosting 9 participants; today 5 agencies engage 26
participants in the program. Over $200,000 has been raised by you to support participants
access to healthy food.
The benefits of Co-op Cred includes:
● Directly providing healthy food to those in need;
● Providing job training and workplace opportunities to low-income people;
● Facilitating community connections; and
● Recharging participant confidence to pursue work and learning directions outside of the
This year’s Humber Walk & Ride4RealFood begins and ends at Budapest Park, with a stop at
Esther Lorrie Park. The total route is up to 46km, and riders will stop at Esther Lorrie Park at the
23 km mark. For participants not biking, there will also be hosting a walking tour, leaving from
PARC, to highlight the vibrant South Parkdale community. Walkers and riders who register for
$25 will be rewarded with our fabulous picnic lunch and live music from PARC musicians.
